From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #32: Would you accept twenty years of extraordinary happiness and fulfillment if it meant you would die at the end of the period?

A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
I know you hear me,
I can taste it in your tears."

If a doctor said I probably wouldn't live another 20 years or if I was at least 60 years old, then I would do it. Otherwise no.

Extradordinary happiness and fulfillment sounds like a lot. And I think it's something you could achieve on your own--just much more difficult. You need to have the discipline to go out and constantly do things that will make you happy and fulfilled.

At that point, I think it's more like a lifespan problem like you two have said. Since I'm still in my 20s, I'd go with no.

I would want to pass that option on to some of my Elders. They could use another twenty years, and that would be a great way to get the time.

I want to buy or trade for these knuffels:
Earth Gen 18, Light Gen 19, Fire Gen 21, Air/Light/Water Gen 22, Light Gen 23, Earth/Light Gen 25, Darkness Gen 26.
Please PM me if you can help!

You know what? All things considered, I kinda feel that it would only make me more sad, no matter what time in my life I got this offer. The reasoning is simple - I wouldn't want to give up my life if I were happy and succesful (which I assume is the main reason why people generally don't want to die) but with every passing year, I would know that I'm running out of time.

I would, however, accept the offer if I had someone dependent on me because a) it would ensure I'll be here for the next 20 years (which, even in my 20s is not guaranteed) to take care of them, and b) I assume my happiness would have to extend to the other person(s) since seeing them unhappy would not make ME happy and fulfilled.

Yes, I would totally go with that agreement. It would be amazing.

My EDS is going to get progressively worse. I probably wouldn't want to live much past 50.

Also, I've never been super happy. I would love to experience that for a while.
