I wonder why make this event harder every year... even halloween event is easier...

beside i have to say that is impossible to get 12keys for day because it would mean that we have to stay awake 24h..
for me who i have at least 1-2h to spend here (when i'm lucky to have time to came online) it's even hard to find more than 2-3piece for hour..so quite impossible to get all the items..

I understand that is important to be active in the community.. but I actually have preferred the option to get pieces both from posting on the forum and digging on the island as the others years..

even because i noticed that if i open multiple windows to make the search quicker if i find 2 pieces in 2 different places i couldn't get both.. and one disappear.. and if i click each page singularly it would take me almost all the hour to find all 4 pieces..
so finding the pieces around the site is a really a boring loss of time :qcry:

and i have to say that i dislike even the fact that you could get an item as many times as you want.. I could understand that you make so for that people don't create multiple accounts for get them..but.. it would be better to do as for halloween and give the chance to get the item only twice..

even because how it is now both keys and pieces would be sold in a really high price at the market
and that's quite sad thinking ad the advent calendar time as a "gift period"

anyway i didn't wrote this for be troublesome.. just wanna let you know my thought..
sorry for my bad english

wish a nice dicember and an happy christmas to all the staff, members, knuffels and wuffels :qh:

@Jiuly_TheBlackCat: Oh my gosh. It's not really that much time to click a few links in the tab. You can find at least 3 key fragments each hour (4th ones may be sneaky at times, but aren't impossible to find either), and under 5 minutes, I assure you. 5 minutes isn't that long. It certainly doesn't take an hour to look through all the site, I have no idea about your way of looking. I assure getting fragments from posting would take longer and getting them through digging isn't fair to newbies or people who just have 1 or so knuffel.
I agree the fragments and keys go for impossible prices on the market. I have a few key to spare, I'll trade them to you for a symbolic price if you want. It can be even 1 :food: I don't care.

Stop bitching people, just because you're lazy doesn't mean you get to write essays about it. Those events are hard work, if you don't want them, don't participate. Or at least stop spoilng all the fun to the ones who actually enjoy them.

Edit: I just found all 4 keys in 2-3 minutes. It's really not such a problem.

memoriam, please don't call people names.

Jiuly, I just went through all the locations where I knew key fragments populated, making sure to scroll down all the way to the bottom each page to simulate actually looking for fragments. I also went to pages that I knew there weren't any fragments to simulate people who aren't sure where the fragments would be, and went to some pages several times over to simulate people with poor memory (like me) and to simulate people with slower internet connection. While I was doing that, the new hour started and fragments started popping up, so I went through the pages again looking for fragments this time without stopping the timer.

Going through the pages this way (twice) took me 4 minutes (3 minutes, 57 seconds and 45 milliseconds, to be exact). It really shouldn't take an hour. If you time it right and come, say, 5 minutes before it changes to the next hour, you shouldn't spend more than 7 to 10 minutes, max. I'm not sure what you're doing that it's taking an hour, but if you use tabs, the second fragment might time out but it wouldn't disappear if you refresh the page. This isn't like forum pop-ups that are random. Each hour, 4 fragments appear in the fixed locations of the site (different for each account, though) and they'll stay there for the hour, regardless of whether you found a fragment on another page or not. In fact, while I was doing my experiment, I found a fragment, opened another page on tab and kept searching until I found another fragment, and came back. It said the fragment couldn't be collected, but then I refreshed the page. The fragment was on the same page, though it had moved to a different position. Same with the fragment on the second page. So using tabs shouldn't affect your timing by much, either.

If you're having trouble figuring out where to find the fragments, Firn posted this list 3 years ago. It's missing some pages that we've gotten during those 3 years, but it should give you an idea where to go. In the comment underneath, more importantly, there're links to the same locations posted by a helpful user that should help you. Sometimes I do open those in tabs (usually only if I can't find the last fragment) and it really shouldn't interfere with your fragment collecting past you having to refresh the pages 4 times when you find a fragment. Doing so shouldn't make the fragments run away to a different page.

Finally, you don't need 12 keys a day. You only need 1 key a day and 8 key fragments to create a key. I collect 12 key fragments most days and I don't think I'm all that active. I haven't dug with my Knuffel in ages and I've only collected 7 doughnuts since Candy Caravan opened (8 with this post). I think you're just somehow making this task more difficult for yourself.

And Firn, speaking of that list... I mentioned above that there were times I couldn't find the last fragment. I usually find it using Mirika's linked list and it was strange because I already visit all those places in that list on my own. Then I noticed that the link in Mirika's link for the alchemist is old:
http://kofk.de/quest.php?m=a
This takes me to the Quest page now. Today, during the experiment I ran for Jiuly, I went to Mirika's Alchemist page, found the fragment there, and went to the quest page and then to the new Alchemist's page without collecting the fragment. The fragments weren't in the quest page nor the new alchemist's page, but when I went back to the old alchemist page, the fragment was there again. I don't know if something could be done, because if one of the fragments are populating in links that aren't used anymore then users would be having trouble collecting the last fragments from time to time. And that could end up dragging the search out longer than it should. The first time I missed that last fragment it took me half-an-hour to find that list to figure out which page I've missed. XP

"lazy" isn't a name, it's an adjective. I didn't use any other bad word besides "bitching" which isn't a name either. If someone is complaining about having to do things to get other things, they are lazy. I'm sorry.

Edit: At least it was meant as an adjective, not a name. And if that helps anything, it wasn't meant specifically for Jiuly_TheBlackCat, it was meant for all the event complainers, for past years, this year and all upcoming years. You can't expect to get items for doing nothing, nothing's free, even on KofK. You seem to forget there are many users who are willing and able to help you guys out, there's no need to be rude and cranky about things you don't like this year. We can all be civil and say "too bad it's this and that this year, but thank you anyways for the hard work, I'll pull through somehow or I'll ask someone for help".
And for the help in the current event: I really can help people out, PM me or go to my material thread (see my signature) if you need help with the keys. I'm hoarding them for now, because I'm not sure how many room items I'll want. There's never enough of those. But I'm the lucky one who has loads of time to collect the key fragments, so that's really not a problem for me to share a few keys with you.

I was talking about "bitching". Either way, please don't use such negative words against other users. Honestly, I haven't seen what I would categorize as "bitching" in this thread. There have been people complaining that it's too hard, yes. And I think that they're mistaken about how hard this event is. But I wouldn't say that it's "bitching". Negative feedback shouldn't be discouraged or we won't know how to improve people's experience. Abusive feedback should be discouraged, but I don't see anyone being abusive in complaining. If people are being abusive towards other users or administrators, please report them instead of telling them that they are "bitching". If people are simply complaining that it's too hard, please offer advice and helpful hand as you have without labeling it as "bitching". Thank you.

Oh, okay, that's still not a name XD I find inaccurate and unjustified complaining "bitching", so I'm sorry. I just find it annoying when people complain more and more when the events and site in general are only improving.

It's bad when the event has been made to where I hate it.

You've made it easier this year, but considering I have no reason to post or anything anymore....I would be clicking through all these pages just to get fragments and then wait an hour. It's good for those who have a reason to be active (so they're actually doing something on the website while searching or waiting), but just like previous years, I probably won't be participating since you did remove the ONE way I was willing to try and collect things: Knuffel Feeding and Digging. Oh well. I'll miss it, but not enough to search through the website every hour XD

I am really sorry that so many people seem to dislike this event.

I did not think it would be difficult.

Zia made a good example: About 4 minutes to go through all possible location twice. So, this event basically takes 4 minutes of time each day. If you don't find all key fragments in the time span of 2 hours, it might take another 2 minutes, so 6 minutes maybe. Also, no one is required to stay on KOfK for hours. It's not like you have to be here 2 hours to collect enough fragments for a day. There is no way on earth it could take anyone longer than 10 minutes max to look at all possible locations, even with a super slow internet connection and double checking.
You can just come here, serach through all pages in 2 minutes, and then come back another hour and search again for 2 minutes.

I thought it was really rather easy.

You have to understand that, when people come here and say that they are not willing to spend 4 minutes a day on this event, then I have to ask myself, why we shouls spend 30-40 hours creating it. I mean, really, what's the point?
I want to make fun events that poeple enjoy, but I still want them to have to work for items, to participate in this site, make it more lively. But if people aren't even willing to spend 4 minutes a day on it, I don't really see how this is supposed to work out.

Maybe people are making it more complicated than it is? Maybe some people don't understand it properly? I see a lot of weird information here, like 12 keys a day? Why would you need 12 keys a day? You only need one! And why would you have to spend one or two hours here? This event doesn't require this. There is only a fixed number of locations the key fragments can be (I added them in the spoiler tag on the first page) about 2 minutes is all it takes to look through them. I participate in events like regular users do. I have not even been searching actively for key fragments and yet I was able to open one window each day so far. This is, in my opinion, probably one of the easiest event types we ever had. I don't think, apart from free items, we ever had an event that required even less time and less work?

Now, obviously I stand rather alone with my opinion, but I really don't seem to understrand the problem. Why is it taking people that long to collect key fragments? What are you doing wrong? Are people possibly confusing this with pop-up events, thinking the more they click around, the more key fragments they can find randomy? It does not work like this! It is not supposed to take more than a few minuts a day! Or is it really the problem that some people are not willing to spend 4-6 minutes a day here?

(I am not trying to complain about people complaining. I am really just trying to understand how this could have gone so wrong and what to do better in the future, because I thought we were making a really easy event for people this time and I don't understand why it seems difficult to so many users?)
