Aha, I kinda get what you're saying. Before I learned how to draw, my OCs were heavily description-based. I had some that I really wanted art of, but I kept thinking that if other artists were to draw them for me, it wouldn't really look the way my OC should look --it wouldn't really /be/ them. Does that sorta make sense?

That actually sounds pretty interesting and creative. I would imagine that it'd be more difficult drawing someone who doesn't exist in a realistic style than a cartoon style.

Yes I know it's a frowned upon thing, but I am not claiming their work

It kind of annoys me, seeing as I don't mind what people do with my work
as long as they don't say they drew it. Not to mention there's a million
"fan ocs" or edits of screencaps and original artwork from major

I could have gone out of the way to make a base, but I don't see the point.
For all I know this is an official pic from a manga/anime,
or maybe it's original or a fanart.
I'd feel worse if it were original or fanart, but I do edits from time to
time for fun with photo/art manipulations. I just keep it to myself usually.

Sorry if that was a rant, I just don't like that fact very much. @.@

I guess this sort of thing differs among artists; most of the people I know would mind, but there are some who have conditions on it, and some who don't mind, and some who don't care.

I'm the type that would care. Though my art isn't particularly outstanding, I put time and effort into drawing it, and the drawing that I make or that people make for me are meant to be of my character's, not of other people's.

I don't much like fan OCs either made in this style, but I'm not going to get into that. XD;


Anyways, I guess we've both had our input on the topic. Want to talk about something else? I put up a new writing meme, but since my writing files are all over the place, I'm kinda hoping I'll have time to gather them all before filling out the meme.

Yes I didn't particularly want to talk about it;
just wanted to state my view on it.
I know I tend to seem defensive, sorry about that.
I don't like those fan OCs either.

I planned to just do the past memes and work my way
up. So I kind of doubt I'd ever get to do a current one..
Though I could skip around, I'd have to see if I'm ready
for writing whatever it's about.

*nods* I see. Aha, yeah, I have to do some things in a certain order too. Sometimes it's easier that way.

Ahhhh noooo short stories, I'm bad at those. >__<

Though I guess I technically do write "shorts" that are semi-scenes from a longer novel that don't actually get put in the novel because they're too disconnected from the main plot/sort of odd...but that's as far as short stories go for me.
